Notes: This is for NaPoWriMo/Poem-A-Day Day 3. This is another fork off the NaPoWriMo prompt "Write a poem that's a fan letter to a celebrity". This is addressed to creators and while it doesn't name names, it is addressed to: some famous creator-celebrities, some fandom and non-fandom Big Name Fans, and some other online and offline minor creator-celebrities (basically the many AWESOME creator-friends we have). Cecil wrote this one.
It's funny sometimes
Straddling three worlds
at once
You never realize how much
you learn from everyone whose works you love
Fannishness isn't limited to
Big Name Celebrities
But all of them offer SOMETHING
From the Big Name Celebrities --
the author, artist, voice actor,
actress, producer, director --
creative prowess
famous by name or work
the big money and the discussions
over all the media ---
While some of them view you as nothing more than an annoyance
the really good ones, the ones you follow along with most?
They LOVE their fans, collaborate with them,
encourage them to keep pushing forward with their own
creative souls because they know that true art
is the one that makes meaning through you
From the Big Name Fans
those fannish creators who do great work
using other people's sandboxes
but start pushing and pulling buttons
finding new ways to interpret things
Filling in missing links in the original story
Fixing the things that rub other fans the wrong way
Adding in more diversity and new events
Who encourage you to add your own versions
To add more to the diversity
Or to remix their works
into other forms so more people
can enjoy them
From the Minor Celebrity Creators
Those writers and artists
who encourage you to find out
what makes you sing
Who show that while
it's not easy
you can be successful
You can create your
dreams and make them into
something other people can enjoy

of Their Fans
