a homebrew deck made of YuGiOh! Trading Cards that I've been using in some form since junior high/high school, inspired by an (unfinished) fanfic I once read. I interpret these using a mix of mythology, etymology of words, color and dream magic, and animal spirit totems.

• Golden Thread Tarot
  

  Though originally starting out as an illustration project to help me create closer connections to each card, the project quickly evolved into a physical deck as well as a companion app.
  
  The design of the deck was inspired by the concept of the night, and the archetype of a single string that connected all things within the universe, threading images in a murky unknown.



• Luminous Spirit Tarot
  

  I created this deck as a sister deck to the Golden Thread Tarot - both visually and conceptually. While the Golden Thread is really focused on looking within, the Luminous Spirit is really about radiating outwards. This focus will also be reflected in the app to be created as a companion in the future.
  
  I was inspired by the way that we interact with light - how when light travels through a prism, we see all of the colors that are within. The archetypes within the tarot are all within us, and our decks, are the prism that lets all aspects of ourselves speak.
  



• Seventh Sphere Tarot
  

  In the English speaking world, the most common type of tarot deck is known as Rider Waite Smith tarot deck, which many artist-created decks are based on. The Rider Waite Smith was illustrated for the purpose of divination, and the images of the cards are reflective of those roots - filled with esoteric symbolism.
  
  However, before that, there was a more basic system that is used more commonly in Europe - known as the Tarot de Marseille. Starting out as a playing card game, the minor arcana within the Tarot de Marseille is reflective of those origins - relying not heavily on imagery, but rather your instincts, your understanding of the suits and the western elements, and your understanding of numerology.
  
  The readings with the Tarot de Marseille therefore are much more nuanced, and individual than they are when using a Rider Waite Smith deck.
  



• Arcana Iris Sacra
  

  The Arcana Iris Sacra, translated roughly from Latin as the "Mysteries of the Sacred Rainbow" is a vintage-inspired tarot deck, drawing upon the dense and complex traditions of the Golden Dawn, the Kabbalah and astrology.
  
  Use the colors and their intensities to create additional layers of meaning:
  
  

  • Red - Fire: Willpower and creativity
  
  
  • Blue - Water: Emotions and habits
  
  
  • Yellow - Wind: Intellect and ideas
  
  
  • Green - Earth: Material world and sense of stability

  
  
  Each card also contains a rainbow - the four colors described above - either swirling, twisting, moving or beaming - to help you understand the focus of each card and where the primal energy of that card lies.
  
  



• Golden Thread Lenormand
  

  Enter the world of Lenormand, and bring the internal insight you’ve honed with tarot to the practical world. Lenormand is a system of cards that utilizes the language of symbols and images to help you more deeply examine, explore and contemplate your everyday lives. Where tarot excels at giving you more psychological understanding about why you do the things you do, the Lenormand can help you focus on the effects of your psyche on the material world.

• Seventh Sphere Lenormand
  

  Much like the Golden Thread Tarot, the Seventh Sphere Lenormand was a first foray into working with a Lenormand deck. As a means of learning through creating, I drew a pair of cards every few days in order to contemplate their meaning. Surprisingly, these illustrations came flowing out of me - and I discovered that working with the Lenormand system - both psychologically, and artistically - was candid, sharp, and clear. What comes out of this deck is a graphical interpretation of the symbols, which are minimalistic, but come together with a layered complexity when united in pairs and spreads.
  
  Learning the Lenormand was a reminder that we can find beauty and grace in even the most mundane of objects. Creating this deck reignited my appreciation for the everyday, and encouraged me to find meaning in what I sometimes thought of as trivial. The Lenormand is a reminder that the symbols we find in the our cards are alive, breathing, and among us everyday - on a more visceral, tangible level than the psychological heights we sometimes reach with tarot.
  
  With this deck, I hope you will not just connect with the cards within them, but also with that which you engage with everyday.
