Poem: "Carlo"
Apr. 2nd, 2015 10:47 pmTitle: Carlo
Rating: G
Word Count: 96
Line Count: 15
Original/Fandom: Original: Personal Narrative
Summary: a poem written about Carlo, one of Marjorie's therapy dogs at Boston University Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation's Recovery Education Program
I am sitting here
Watching you grow
The first time we meet
Both new, skittish and unsure,
You jump off my lap
Realizing that I'm pulling myself too far in my seat
There's no room for you when I'm scared
But a few weeks later with another classmate
I join you on the floor
I start to come earlier to say hi first
And start trying to teach you "STAY"
At first you zoom away after Marjorie
But as we both grow
You start staying longer and
Eventually I can sit with you on my lap
