Weird AF and Dark/Intense Polychrome Story Prompt/Chara Dev Reference

.... weird af dream.

>< This is what happens when you combine 2 headmates doing really deep and dark memory work + an advocacy project on controversial/less talked about topics in plurality taking over our lives + current events.

This isn't the soup I wanted to develop in my own attempted proto-ficcing for Polychrome Heroics dammit haha. (Though I GUESS it means the next character dev set I will post will be the super fluff one? That one's a soup/nary traveling complementary health/mad pride/mind freedom network based of the shit some of my colleagues are trying to develop in L-America through the VA, the Recovery Center, and the general community).

I doubt it's even canon cuz it's darker than the darkest polychrome thing i've seen so far haha even though i do intend it to have a happy ending, but it still is fascinating. Might be a fork-in-the-road AU with one of my headmate's universes? I'll probably write it out fuller when i have more time, but im just documenting it here for my reference.

CW: cult/ritual abuse, traumatic manifestation, power bestowal, "possession", weird humor

Please take care. I ain't going into lots of detail but it's still dark af without the detail.

( Spoilers )

comments

On Fridays, I offer a distance reiki clinic & share service.

Currently, this is only me offering reiki, but I am PERFECTLY able to support hosting any other reiki-trained folks who want to join in sharing your gifts in the comments.

When this post is opened on each Friday, you have the option of
(a) just asking for a distance reiki healing request which i usually schedule for roughly 8-11PM EST, depending on when i wind down for bed, OR
(b) you can use the sign-in sheet and roleplay as-if you were traveling to this virtual office space and I will basically walk you through what i would do at an in-person clinic/share as time allows [this is the magic of the Internet, Social Media, and Technology! Even a pandemic can't stop us from connecting in some shape!]. (Since this post is going up late again this week, if you wanna do the roleplay version, replies will come in through tomorrow.)

Eventually I will have a image to show what the clinic space looks like, but for now make due with the description below!

If you would like to tip, my tip post is here (LJ).

The clinic space door has a "scent-free zone" sign and opens first into a small waiting area -- there's chairs and floor cushions settled around a table with a lamp with a small range glow [think library table]. A sign on the table reads, "Please make sure your cellphones have sounds off and are on night-mode for screenlighting if that's available on your device". On the table there is a small leaflet describing reiki, a sign in sheet, a sheet of paper with a pain/stress/tension scale in text/numerals and images, labeled 0 = none to 10 = a lot. Also available are gloves, wipes, hand sanitizer, and face masks, if you want or need them.

On one side of the room there is a massage table set up.

In the middle of the room there are 2 armless chairs and several stacked up in the corner.

Along the wall near the chair in the middle of the room and the massage table, there is a table with a covered pitcher of water and paper cups, and some prepackaged snacks for a variety of dietary needs, and a basket of assorted crystal chips/small stones/beads with a sorting tray and a sign that reads "please do not take more than one; use the sorting tray to find the one that calls to you today, this basket's contents are especially useful if you cannot drink a lot of water to detox for personal wellness/medical reasons".

comments

It's Karmic Justice Work Tuesday again!

Today is Tuesday, which is in magical terms a good day for "Hexing". This will occur on every Tuesday EXCEPT Tuesdays in November. November is a hex-free month, due to it being No Swear November. I'm a soft polytheist/animist called primarily in this role by Kushiel, Kwan Yin and one of the aspects of Brighid. My method of hexing is to call in energy spirits, usually Karma Tribbles and their cousins, though with Kwan Yin's help, I also do what is essentially blessings on both folx participating in other hexworks, myself, those affected by the troublemakers, and the troublemakers themselves.

Additionally I'm a member of a nondenominational witchcraft group called the Village of Heretics/Why The Fuck Not Today [The Village Center] run by Gwynne Michele aka The Village Hermit that does regular group hexwork every Tuesday around 8PM EST.

Do you need a hex? Let me know. Comments are screened and anon comments are allowed.

Your options for hexing are:

Just a simple hex on whatever you want.

Hex plus blessing (A hex, plus a blessing on those doing hexwork and those affected by the thing/group/individual being hexed)

hex plus blessing plus loving-kindness (a hex plus a blessing on those doing hexwork and those affected, plus a loving kindness petition to the thing/group/individual being hexed). If you want my fannish understanding of what this third option does, it's essentially what Nita did to The Lone Power in Diane Duane's So You Want To Be A Wizard's finale - giving the offending individual the OPTION TO CHOOSE AGAIN, if-only.)

For more information on what hexing is and why some witches choose to hex
Why hexing is the answer by windvexer
Hex Appeal: The Power of Cursing by Cyndi Brannen

If you would like to tip, my tip me options are here (LJ).

comments

The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want

If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you. [Note: Your home address is not required!]

Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

STEP TWO

Surf around your friendslist (or friends of friends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list.

If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call. There are no guarantees with this project, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

Hi I'm Emmy. I'm 31 and I've been doing this for several years now. This year unfortunately I'm temporarily housed so i'm going all digital with my Holiday Wishes list.

Holiday e-cards/slowly app e-postcards. My slowly id is EL9KWW, my email is listed at the end of this post. I prefer secular/solstice/happy-everything cards, but also ok with other winter holidays.

Donations toward final utility bills. We left our old apartment and the utility final bills are kinda high and OVER my income since for a few paperwork reasons energy assistance didn’t pull through before moving out and I accidentally left the heat on too high the day we moved out. So anything anyone can spare would be awesome. My paypal is ehryniewi[at]gmail[dot]com.

Amazon wishlist. It’s all digital separated by category. My email below SHOULD be the gifting email on ALL the outside links for us. https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/34YM3BN4KFRET?ref_=wl_share

Gift Cards: Amazon, EA/Origin, Bandcamp

A couple folx to help design tarot spreads (I do fandom-inspired readings by others and my own creations, and I uh need some testers/helpers to help create some spreads for fandoms I am less familiar with (like I had a request for a Steven Universe spread when I first decided I wanted to market this way, but I’m honestly not so familiar with that universe and am SOOO far behind on canon) and I definitely need some suggestions for smaller spreads [5 cards or less] and fandoms for them.

More folx following my public journal https://dreamwriters.dreamwidth.org OR http://dreamwriters.livejournal.com

Fics.
Remix statement:

Generally I'm okay with transformative work, including translations. Generally speaking my policy is fairly close to The Creative Commons BY-NC-SA, but I'd prefer you ask first. There may be exceptions.

Remixing Original Work
Fanmixes, podfic, art and book covers are welcome in all my universes on the master post (LJ) (I'll love you even more, if you use alt text or an image description for the graphics because a lot of the people who I share stuff with are using screenreaders!)

Willerverse and Intergalactic Urban Search and Rescue are open source universes that welcome fanfic with the possibility of fan works getting canonized. (Ask me for character sheets if you want to use an existent character!)

Fanwork specific info:
I can be found at ehryniewi
Remixing fanfiction:
Generally ok with remixing BUT...

SOME of the stories I write are headmates' headcanon, in which case, the rules for remixing go a little different:

(1) I'd rather you talk to me before you remix the work itself into a new fanfic. I might have a friend already doing that for me or I might not want the text to be altered at all...

(2) Podfics and translations for these are FINE, but use the translation/remix link so I can see them!

(3) Fanmixes, Fanart, and fic banners/icon sets inspired by the work are also fine with a translation/remix link (I'll love you even more, if you use alt text or an image description for the graphics because a lot of the people who I share stuff with are using screenreaders!)

(4) Exception to the rule: My Ace Attorney OCs are free-range for PWKM works and anyone I know from the Phoenix Wright/Ace Attorney fandom. Ditto for Night Vale OCs. However, I would definitely appreciate a link if you use the characters! (Ask me for character sheets!)

Remixing fanmixes:
Check the tags on fanmixes. If it has a freeform tag that says "remixable", you may create a fanfiction or fanart based off of it. Some of my fanmixes are already remixes for other people's works or my own.

Archiving
1. You may download a personal-use copy of my fanworks or original fiction for reading offline (or if you are one of those people who are afraid their favorite fanwork/story will be taken down).
2a. I would prefer if you would not archive my work on another archive. If you have a suggestion of another location for me to post a fic or fanmix. Please let me know via dm or the email associated with the account hosting the fic and I will consider crossposting to the suggested site.
2b. However, I am fine if you wish to link to my fic as an entry in a personal rec list or a rec fest community.

last updated 2019-10-25

comments

Rambling is okay.

Comments and links on related topics.

Comments on single links, entities, paragraphs, topics, or words in the entry. I may throw out a lot of things each blog post, and I don’t expect anyone to have to come up with a coherent comment on each and every one of them to comment.

Sequential commentary. It’s okay to comment about one thing as you read it, then another thing in a separate comment, then a third thing after you’ve chewed on it for a while and feel ready to talk about it.

Talking amongst yourselves in the comments is fine. I like creating a place where people get to interact!

I also welcome:

Comments on older entries, access-locked or public.

Comments on VERY OLD entries, access-locked or public. I have many years of archives.

Comments from people who are not subscribed to me.

Comments from people who I’ve never met.

Comments from people who haven’t talked to me in awhile.

Comments from people who’ve never talked to me.

NB: Posts tagged with "POST TYPE: THREAD-NECRO" and "POST TYPE: AUDIENCE INTERACTION" are usually able to be commented on retroactively no matter how old they are (unless the content itself says they're time-sensitive).

However, in some instances comments are subject to be frozen, screened, or deleted.

This includes:

Comments with irrelevant content that doesn’t fall in one of the above allowed comment types.

Comments using profanity or vulgar language.

Comments including derogatory language, or language/concepts that could be deemed offensive.

Statements that attack another person individually.

This is how I reply to comments:

We try to reply in a timely manner, but we're often very low-spoon when it comes to commenting, so sometimes we might comment in what looks like binges.

So if you REALLY want a response please SAY SOMETHING up-front

Please follow my commenting rules, and help me to keep this site a safe and constructive place for discussion.

I reserve the right to delete, screen or freeze comments submitted to this blog at any time without notice.

This comment rules policy is subject to change at any time.

Credits
Journal Culture/Commenting Culture snagged in part from trascendenza and silveradept with modifications.

comments

We're pretty open-book about being plural these days, meaning identifying as a multiconscious entity with a variety of beings sharing a mind/body. We do not identify as DID, though the experience can be similar.

Admittedly sometimes our existence feels like metafiction of metafiction and this coming year our growth project is to be one of the voices talking about the stuff no one dares to talk about in-systems these days: soulbonding, fictives, factives, fictive-factive meshes, nonhumans, intrarelationships, how to do sexual education with headmates, how to develop a protocol for handling nonverbal/semiverbal feral and/or semiferal nonhumans, dealing with past life memories and/or farview memories.

So, ask us anything awkward you might want to ask? This week we'll reply to commenters questions on both posts. And who knows, you might inspire one of our YouTube videos for the new year!

This is an entry for therealljidol Season 11 Topic 2 Living Rent-free in your head

comments

A very rushed and obviously live video reveals a young woman with her hair pulled back in a very messy Katniss-style braid over one shoulder, wearing a crystal point necklace, a rather beatup black fedora, and a rather dirty purple gown in a room with a bland office feel. "Not sure how many people here remember me. I reported in here back in Exhibit B via dreamwriteremmy. Agent DreamWriter, at your service."

She pauses and behind her a small orange fae child flits around her head, signing its hands wildly at the camera. "Public apology time from me and my asset Sheridan here. Sorry about the last couple weeks and the utter confusion and stalled heavy feelings. We accidentally got you guys swept into a fae chaos loop on my last adventure, along with a couple other multiverses."

She flips through her case journal, "Though it might be a good thing given the look I got at the Lines of Fate this morning; you all timeline-jumped to something slightly better than it was, but it's still a bit fragile and I do not recommend any magickal folx take a look at the Lines of Fate any time soon, unless you want to make yourself dizzy. They're tangled and still weaving themselves back together. Also, uh, if you're planning for the new year, be prepared that stuff is going to probably shift a lot sooner than you expect. Fae chaos loops have a tendency to make time-sense move pretty fast once they settle down."

There's a loud buzz in the background. "Uh, gotta go. That's the Team's training bell, I gotta find my work partner.
